Read screenplays

There's nothing better - everyone will tell you so. How-to books have some value, workshops and seminars, too. But two things will help you most - writing, of course, and reading.

One of the tightest scripts ever!
Always write and always read scripts. Download scripts off these sites and analyze them while watching the films. Analyze films from the same genre, compare them - why does something work in one film but not in the other?

Read and watch and soon you'll begin to understand what you've always known as a viewer. You'll understand why you sit on the edge of your seat one moment, why you couldn't care less the next, why you gasp in surprise or shock. So whenever you take a break from writing - read and analyze scripts.
